BACKSTAGE PRODUCTION
If you think you'd enjoy being behind the scenes, making it all work and aiming for a career in the industry, this new specialist course is the perfect route towards achieving those dreams.
You will develop the required skills and knowledge to pursue further studies and/or a career in technical theatre.
You will experience all aspects of Backstage Production including; stage management; set design and construction; costume; sound and lighting. You can work with experienced performers, directors and performance students to stage numerous large and small scale productions throughout the year, at the College and in the local community.
Past productions have included dance shows, musicals and plays with elaborate set designs and special effects. With our purpose-built theatre you will make use of industry standard lighting and sound equipment and production tools, as well as access to light and sound software.
PERFORMING ARTS
The Level 3 Diploma (1 year) and Extended Diploma (2 years) in Performing & Production Arts qualifications are designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree level study or employment in the performing arts. They provide an opportunity for those who have an interest in the performing arts to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating, demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study
